On October 24, 1945, 51 countries came together to create the United Nations which commemorates friendship and partnership of nations and teaches lessons about cultural diversity and brotherhood of the nations. United Nations Day continues to be celebrated globally as part of the United Nations Week. 

All schools in the country as mandated by the Department of Education (DepEd) celebrate this event through various programs and activities. To honor this, FEES-MARCELO GREEN joined the celebration of  United Nations day with the theme “International Year of Indigenous Languages”.

Different contests and activities were held as part of the two-day celebration such as poster making, flag coloring, film showing about the history of the United Nations and parade of costumes and flags of different nations. For the selection of the contestants for the different contests, an elimination process was conducted to choose the best three candidates who will represent in the school contest. 

All grade levels were assigned on different continents as their identity during the celebration and can be observed during the parade accompanied by the FEES-MG Drum and Lyre, Mr. and Miss United Nations 2019 participants. 

After the parade, a pageant was formally started as Mr. Michael T. Bual, Master Teacher 1 gave his welcome address to all. After the warm welcome from Mr. Bual, a message from one of the AP teachers in FEES-MG and also one of the judges Mr. Joel Vicente emphasized the importance of being united. He asked the students to always remember “WALANG AWAY, DAPAT LAGING NAGMAMAHALAN” as he concluded his message. 

The said activities are manifested in the pictures below. The pageant ended peacefully as the winners received their certificates, sash, and trophies. Teachers, parents` and students were all engage in the school activity by actively participating in different activities inside the classroom.
